It's OK to be disappointed.

The sinking' ash cloud. It has me a wee bit frustrated and disappointed.

Our flight today, to Budapest, was cancelled.

I have not unpacked. The team is still hopeful and prayerful, that we can possibly go in a few days...maybe.

So, we wait. On a God, who in a single breath, can move the wind patterns over Europe. If it is HIS will.

Am I disappointed? Yes. Am I devastated and all depressed? No.

Besides, Curt and my son Brock took me out for ice cream! A Carmel Cashew Sundae....and I enjoyed every bite!

I am trying to be more intentional about telling my boys about women and how we think. As I was eating my treat, I asked Brock (he is 16) what women might do when they are disappointed? He said, "Eat???" Yup, it may be unhealthy and I would not make it a habit, but it was just what I needed.

I will keep you all up-to-date.

  1. Sue,

Keith was to leave for England yesterday but instead I woke up today with my hubby beside me in bed. Instead of complaining about all the chaos the ash cloud has brought on our world I found myself thanking my Father for using it to directly touch my life. Not only is the ash cloud an amazing reminder of God's unsurpassed power and my nothingness, but because of it our family gets more "daddy" time this week than we ever imagined. So He has truly taught me how he can bring "beauty from ashes"...but then I read your post and realized the very cloud that has brought blessing to our family is bringing disappointment to yours (and oh so many others!). Love you so much and will keep trusting that He will get you there in HIS perfect and sovereign timing.

  2. Dear Tami, I loved the "Beauty from ashes" reminder. I have seen God's beauty in this situation many times over the past few days. For one, I am not stuck in an airport in Europe, but safe at home with my family!Your reply reminded me to be intentional, as I watch for HIS beauty,in the days to come. THANKS, dear sister!

  3. I am sad for you :(
But I have faith knowing that everything happens for a reason and he will bless your efforts in ways you can't imagine and can't see at this time.
All things happen according to God's plan and his timing. He has an amazing purpose in store for you. Your opportunities are just beginning:)

    Much love.
