On Monday, we talked about your home being a shelter and a hiding place. We looked at practical ways to provide this place of respite for your children. As promised, here is a list of ideas to create a hiding place, a place of shelter, for your man.

Your man, everyday, is out in the world, providing for his family. Daily, facing temptations and a mountian of stress. Yet, he comes home to YOU and the children. Make your home his shelter, his hiding place, the place he wants to be!
Next, in part 3, we will talk about YOU mom and when you need a shelter!
After months of intending to log onto your blog, here I finally am! It's so refreshing to read your entries and feel like I'm having a heart to heart chat with you, just like I always cherish when our paths cross! :) I just have to tell you....your list of ways to create a shelter for our husbands made me smile. You see, back in the very early days of my marriage I tried to imitate you and your SIL Jan's example of lighted candles and soft music when my hubby came home from work. But I was completely baffled when he would walk in the door, head straight to the radio and shut it off, then blow out the candle. Initially I was a little hurt but now I can laugh about it. To him, I wasn't creating a shelter...I was creating a noisy, distracting fire hazard. Ah, the mind of my overly practical (and admittedly unromantic) man! Since then I've had to learn what IS a shelter to him, and it has nothing to do with background noise or open flame! :) Tami P
ReplyDeleteTami, Great to hear from you!! I just outright laughed when I read you comment:) I can just picture Keith doing this. You are right, you have to play "trial and error" to find out what "works" for your man!
