The Power of Respect

Yesterday, at work, I had a thought provoking experience.

A coworker was introducing me to a new employee. "This is Sue," she introduced. "And SHE has the husband all of us want to have!"

Wow! My friend at work has never met my husband, Curt. How would she know what he is like?

I respect Curt. Even when I do not always agree with him or we are in a "dry" season or our relationship.

It is not artificial. I really do respect him. He is a amazing leader,provider and protector. He would take a bullet for me. And when the opportunity lends itself, I share what a great husband and father he is. And I mean it.

I just did not realize until yesterday how HUGE that is. My friends "see" and "know" my husband through my words of Respect and Apreciation of him.

My friends adore my husband, whom they have never met.

And that makes me smile.

Oh, Lord, help me never to disrespect my husband in public (or private) EVER.
