It's still a good day...

As I walked into the local super-market, I was all smiles...the sun was shining (that is really something here lately) and I was feeling really zippity-do-da in my new black trench coat.

After speed-shopping (this helps me stay on-task and not add extras to my list) I headed toward the check out lines..UGG! Only 2 lines open out of 28!! And they both had a long line in them...my do-da all happy mood took a nose dive. Especially since I had a important meeting in 20minutes.

I looked around and thought "Oh, Well, it looks like I will be Suzie checker and do this myself."

First mistake....

After Scanning the second item the lovely machine said..."Please remove item from belt!" What item, where? There is no item on belt?

Hello, anybody out there who can help? Of course NOT! After, looking around I spot "Yolanda", the supervisor of "self checkout" talking 3 rows down to a friend..Can you help me?

Sure...and 2 minutes later....and 1 minute after that..and 2 minutes later...then coupon time.....no, it would not recognize said coupons in the slot....Poor Yalonda, she was SO ready to get this lady in the black trench coat OUT of her store....She tried to help...Yes, she did....she used her badge to push the coupons in the slot....HER BADGE GOT STUCK! The manager had to be called!

20 minutes latter, I thanked Yolanda, who mumbled, "My Pleasure" between clenched teeth.

And what is most amazing about this story...REALLY amazing, is I did not get upset. REALLY.

I keep thinking about a quote I read earlier in the week.

When times of disappointment, frustration and stress come...tell yourself, "If this is the worse thing that happens to me today.... it is STILL a good day!"

And it was still a good day, as I smiled and chuckled all the way to my car (yes, people stared at the smiling giggling woman in the black trench coat, wondering what was so funny!)
